  1. I love your straightforwardness, and the humor you inject within your pieces. I agree with you on the list of “friend qualifications”. May you have a beautiful week! 🙂

  2. Timely Joyful… The friend I went away with last weekend is an old friend – from the 1970’s. But she has changed over the past few years (maybe I have too…) so that she has become very much a taker. It’s exhausting to be around her and I seem to be on overdrive all the time trying to make everything good. It’s such an old friendship, but I’m afraid that I’m going to have to put a bit of distance between us. That makes me sad. 😦

And your list is spot on! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thanks AGMA! I know very well of which you spoke!! Some friends I can handle just so long. Lol. Sorry things didn’t work out like you hoped but I bet it was for the best. Thank you for commenting!!

  3. I have several friends that I’ve known for over 30 years. There are also friends that I’ve known for a shorter time, but still consider to be solid friends. I don’t have any “poison” friends. I believe in being kind to all, but won’t abide negative, caustic people. Life is too short for that. I prefer friends that love me for me. I do likewise for them.

My motto is: “If you want good friends, be a good friend.”

    1. My parents said very much the same thing. I was raised in church and always loved the song, “Jesus loves the little children. All the children of the world, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.” I have always taken this song to heart. I have two very dear friends; one I can talk with about anything and another I enjoy going places with and we also can talk about anything. We have been soul sisters for over 12 years. Good friends are so important in our lives.
