But Keep the Old

On Facebook the other day, I saw this quote posted by Andrea Sigler on “Word Porn,” I am unable to find the author of this quote but it has been used many times on other sites. I found it interesting that a recent re-connection with an old friend exemplified its message.

Then as we continued messaging about old times, K mentioned that she had given me a recipe for Russian Tea. I had forgotten who gave that recipe to me!

What a wonderful coincidence that we renewed our friendship, though long distance, and warmed our hearts with these delightful memories. But the reminder of our influence on the world and especially those around us came through clearly by the joy we had given each other through a simple mug and a recipe, in spite of distance and passage of time.

Here is the old recipe that is so yummy! Thank you, Kathy!

Russian Tea Mix

2 Cups sugar,                                                    1 Tsp. Cinnamon

2 Cups of  Orange Tang                                   1 Tsp. Ground Cloves

1 Pkg. Lemonade mix                                       1Tsp. Ground Ginger

Mix thoroughly in large container. Mix 1 1/2 TBSp. of mix per cup of hot water.

May adjust to your preference. This makes enough to give several people a jar

of the mix for Christmas or for family. Enjoy on a cold day!

——————————————————————————————————————————————–

I used this recipe so many times that I can still list the ingredients by heart! That tea mix was used every time my son or I had a cold or sore throat! It was delightfully warming on cold wintry days too!

After I scheduled this post for this morning I looked one last time at some Facebook posts to see who commented or “Liked” a post. There was K’s name! What a wonderful coincidence.

    1. Good to see you too. Hope you havebeen well. Looking forward to more of your blog posts too!! Thank you, I don’t write as much as I used to but find myself drawn to it sometimes more than others. We just had 6 inches of snow with freezes at night. The roads have been hazardous, so since I am home, I will try to get some things done and catch up on my blogs. Hugs!!

      1. I liken our coming and going interest on our websites like the tides, ebbing and flowing.
Do not miss snow/ice/and navigating it. It gets cold at night here in the high desert, a dry air biting cold- but by afternoon I have set aside sweatshirt, gloves and hat for shorts and tee-shirt.
Always a pleasure to hear from you. Have an excellent weekend.
