I Love My Cat, Norie

Since I retired and my husband passed away, I found that an indoor cat was the best pet for me. My second son and his wife had two dogs, that had to be taken out when they lived in an apartment, as well as one incontinent female cat and Nori, a less than one year old black cat. My son was bemoaning having to take care of the animals, so I asked, “Would it help if I took Nori?”

My son agreed almost instantly and I loved the idea. So they brought her to me that Christmas. I changed her name to Norie. I have lots of blog posts and photos of her. She is a delightful companion. She is sixteen years old now (equivalent to eighty years old) but can still walk, eat, lie in the sunshine and sleep but sleeps more now than when she was younger. She is smart and beautiful. She keeps me company, sleeps on my bed sometimes; sits in my lap or on the padded foot rest of my recliner.

She gets just the right amount of care and attention, feeding and medicines. She is now officially my favorite animal. Well, I like dogs too, but being my age; living in a condominium with a screened in porch; and being averse to walking in all kinds of weather helped me decide that a cat would be so much easier on me. She is just right for my lifestyle and can be very entertaining.
