Who Am I?

I know who I am. I am a part of God’s Love sent out to help brighten the lives of others when possible. There is so much suffering, pain, grief, mistreatment, cruelty, rage, poverty, frustration, fear, hatred, lying and stealing in this world. But there is always God’s help available if we ask for His guidance and help.

I believe that I am here to help where people need kindness; to listen when someone is suffering, sad, lost, in need of kindness or help. I cannot save people from themselves or others who are abusive. But I try to be an example of how God wants us to be in treating other people. We all need compassion and kindness from family, friends, and other people.

I try to lighten a load of sorrow or grief when someone is sad or grieving by sharing a story or photo of something beautiful, kind or good with someone who needs to see a positive source of light, help, love and forgiveness. I try to support when support is needed, help when help is needed, listen when someone needs an ear to listen to them..

I was made to help or touch the ones who need to be touched with kindness and compassion. I listen when someone needs to tell their story or just have someone validate that they are important too and should value their lives (as I have learned to value mine) and remind them that they are loved by Someone greater than any of us.

I am still a nurse at heart but I know that I am way behind the times, methods of treatments and medications of the nursing profession. I’ve observed people having minor problems and came over to ask if they were alright. I sometimes think that I have some kind of radar for others who are sad, lonesome, in emotional or physical pain.

So, who am I? I am a loving, kind, friendly, intelligent, wise woman who makes friends easily. I’ve met strangers in the grocery store and spoken with them. Life is full of opportunities to get to know people and to see those in need of help.

When you’re out shopping keep an eye out for someone you may know, who seems sad or depressed. Offer a few minutes to chat with them if you think that you can help them.
