Dear God,
Help us to love You as little children love their parents and family. Their love is uncluttered by fear or stressors of daily life. Please help us to see You as our loving father, who helps us meet the challenges of our lives.
Help us to love one another as you commanded and rightfully so, since You loved us as your children and continue to love us, in spite of knowing how we treat each other. It is sad how we so often seemingly have little to no understanding of your love nor show or feel the desire to live for you. You wanted us to live and know your love for us and respond to it as faithful adults would respond to their parents and vice versa.
You gave us your Son, Lord, as a wonderful act of love. How much more should we be loving You and each other, since Jesus died not just for us Christians but all who would be shown your love through His life and resurrection from death.
Father in heaven, please forgive us when we fail to love our brothers and sisters. Help those who are lost to find their way to a new life through you. You alone can reach their hearts and souls through love and help from those who are already your children.
Just as children need to be loved and guided, we can help others in need of love and kindness.
We should be thankful for your blessings of creation, nature, joy, sight, hearing, movement, music, finding others who love you and their reponses to that kindness. We may extend the Truth of Your Love and Your Son, Jesus, to others who don’t know you and need help. I know that God loves us and we should try to be obedient, loving followers of God and his Love. Amen
